Ophelia started working with Highmark Wholecare in March to provide telehealth addiction services to its patients. Dr. Lakshmi Reddy, chief medical officer, said the statewide collaboration with Ophelia will be a great way to provide treatment options for patients with opioid use disorder, and to break down stigma.Read more from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: https://bit.ly/3WJinxf

Kelsey Linn, manager, Pharmacy Care Management, presented at the 2024 Pharmacy Quality Alliance Annual Meeting in Baltimore last week. Along with Pennsylvania Pharmacists Care Network representatives, their presentation highlighted Highmark Wholecare's extensive work to make innovative services like naloxone education, SDoH assessments and home visits available to our members. The meeting was a wonderful opportunity to share the amazing work being done by Highmark Wholecare and PPCN on a national stage.

Last week, our team members volunteered alongside East End Cooperative Ministry staff to plant a community garden in East Liberty. Tomatoes, peppers, kale, collard greens, green beans, zucchini, cucumbers, and a myriad of spices were put into garden boxes. Anyone is welcome to pick from the garden.

Last Saturday, our team members volunteered at a hard to recycle collection at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills with our WPXI-TV 11 Cares partners. About 500 people dropped off items and an estimated 60,000 pounds of material was collected. Watch coverage of the event here: https://bit.ly/3WD7eOj

Last week, our team members volunteered at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. They packed over 260 MilitaryShare boxes that will go to veterans and their families. We are proud to support the food bank in their mission to end hunger.

“Come Sano Y Se Feliz” (Eat Healthy and Be Happy) wrapped up recently at Norris Square Senior Community Center in Philadelphia. The cooking classes. coordinated by senior community engagement specialist Jhaisa Castillo, are hands-on and taught in Spanish. We are proud to support programs like these in the communities we serve.

We were happy to take part in PITTSBURGH SOCCER IN THE COMMUNITY's festival at Highmark Stadium last weekend. The event featured adult league teams enjoying a day of friendly competition. We are proud to support PSC’s mission of uniting communities and creating positive social impact in our city through sport.
