Make holiday entertaining easy with these sweet and spicy Slow Cooker Spiced Nuts (made without eggs!)
We’re counting down to the holidays and the office parties and gift exchanges have already started. Today I wanted to share a recipe with you that I’m making for my friends and family during the holiday season. Slow Cooker Spiced Nuts, They are simple to make and totally delicious. Just the kind of recipe you need to feed a house full of guests!
Slow Cooker Spiced Nuts
Let’s start with the Slow Cooker Spiced Nuts because they not only make a great snack to have around the house during the holidays, they also make a really thoughtful gift. Making them in a slow cooker means you can cook up a big batch for friends and family and all you have to do is put all of the ingredients in the slow cooker, turn it on, and stir every now and then.
Slow cookers make holiday cooking so easy, and I’ve been loving my De’Longhi Livenza Slow Cooker. It’s a step up from the classic slow cooker because the 6 quart cooking pot is stovetop-safe. That means no more dirtying another pan to brown your meat before placing it in the slow cooker. You can roast or sauté the ingredients right in the cooking pot and then place it in the slow cooker, set to low, medium, or high, and let it finish cooking. It even has a programmable timer so you can truly set it and forget it! It will auto keep warm for up to 12 hours, and when the meal is over you can put both the pot and the lid in the dishwasher for easy clean-up. It has inspired me to do a lot more slow-cooking this winter!
How to Make Slow Cooker Spiced Nuts:
- Spray the cooking pan of your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, an chili powder.
- Add nuts to the slow cooker and sprinkle the sugar and spices over them.
- Add water and stir until fully combined.
- Place a paper towel over the top of the slow cooker pot and then place the lid on it. This keeps the condensation that gathers on the glass lid from falling back into the pot and making the nuts soggy.
- Turn the knob on the De’Longhi Livenza Slow Cooker to LOW, set the cook time to 3 hours, and press START. Stir the nuts every 30 minutes.
- When the cook time is up remove the nuts from the slow cooker and spread them out in a single layer on a lined baking sheet. Let the nuts cool completely.
- Store in an airtight container until ready to serve.

I made the slow cooker spiced nuts today and had to shut off the slow cooker at 2-1/2 hours since the nuts were burning. Because so many of the nuts burned, the whole batch has taken on a burnt taste. Very disappointed since I spent quite a lot on raw nuts. I even double checked the high setting thinking I might have misread the recipe.

Is the cranberry salsa a commercial product? I thought it might be homemade.
