The Village of Riverwoods provides water for residents who have a municipal connection. In addition, all residents arecharged a monthly sanitary sewer utility fee of $18 per home. This fee amounts to a $54 per household quarterly and is necessary to pay for sanitary sewer system repairs and accumulate a reasonable Sewer Fund reserve. Residents who have municipal water receive the sanitary sewer fee on their quarterly Village bill. Residents who have a well receive a separate quarterly bill for the sanitary sewer.
The Lake County Public Works Department provides residents with waste water treatment services. Residents pay a sewer fee directly to Lake County for these services. Residents can contact Lake County directly at 847-377-7500 for questions regarding Lake County bills.

- All residents with an email address attached to their account will receive their bill via email.
- Residents can opt to also receive a paper bill in the mail.
- Residents requesting only paperless bills will not receive a bill in the mail.
- Residents that do not have an email address on file will only receive a paper bill in the mail.
Please call the Village to inquire about how you are signed up to receive bills and/or verify the Village has your correct email address on file.

If your bill was found in your spam folder, please add the Village's email to your contacts to avoid future issues. Yes, you can see and pay your utility bill online. To access your utility account, you will need your account number and PIN number. Both are located on your utility bill. Once on the Village website,click on “Pay Bills and Citations." You will see the current billing items and balanced owed. Click “Make Payment” on this screen to pay your bill.
To access your account history, click on “View Additional Account Information." This screen will show a list of your past bills. To view and/or print past bills click "Print" next to “Bill Calculated" on the bill you wish to see.

Payment is accepted via cash, check or credit card.
- Cash: Drop off at Village Hall (300 Portwine Rd.) from 8:30 am -1:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Checks: Mailed to or dropped off at Village Hall. Village Hall is open from 8:30 am -1:30 pm Monday through Friday. A vestibule dropbox is also available 24/7.
- E-Checks ($1.50 processing fee): Online on the Village website.
- Credit Cards (3% fee/$2.00 minimum): In person, over the phone or online.
- Auto-Payment: Available via the Village website

- Click on "Pay Bills and Citations" button
- Enter account number under the “Getting Started” section which ismore than halfway down the page (the account number is located on your utilitybill)
- Enter pin number (located on your utilitybill as well)
- Click on make payment
- Click on register account
- Register with first name, last name, email address and then setup a password
- Click the radio button"Recurring Payments" to turn on automaticpayments
- After clicking on recurring payments you will see an “SMS” radio button,click on it if you want to receive text messages when your payment is made.
- Add new payment method
- Click “I agree to the terms and conditions”
- Save recurring payments
- Payments will be processed on the due date
PLEASE NOTE: When the automaticpayments go through you will be charged the full amount due from your account. If you have a previous balance you will charged for that as well.
