Track and Field Competes at Otterbein and Ohio State - Capital University (2024)

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University track and field program split up their competitors between the Otterbein Twilight Meet on Friday night and the Jesse Owens Classic on Saturday afternoon this weekend where several quality performances were put forth.

JESSE OWENS CLASSIC – Ohio State
Men's 100m Dash: Dylan Dowell clocked the fourth fastest time in school history by running 10.80 seconds in the sprint event, placing him 12th overall. Dom Glenn ran 10.98 seconds placing 18th.

Men's 400m Dash: Daniel McCormack ran 50.08 seconds placing 21st.

Men's 3,000m Steeplechase: Donovan Slattery ran a time of 9:44.25 which was good enough to place him fourth in the event.

Women's 3,000m Steeplechase: Elizabeth Mak clocked in a time of 12:13.32 to place eighth in her event.

OTTERBEIN TWILIGHT – Otterbein (Friday night)
Men's Pole Vault: Zion Park cleared the bar at 4.68 meters en route to winning the event. His leap was a new PR, strengthening his hold on the second best pole vault in school history. Wesley Triplett finished seventh after clearing a height of 4.13 meters.

Men's Long Jump: Justin Mathews lept 6.29 meters, placing ninth.

Women's Shot Put: Deivon McCullough tossed 10.89 meters and was followed by Mia Sanchez (10.09m).

Men's Shot Put: Nolan Piper led the way with a mark of 13.41 meters. He was followed by Marvin Jean-Denis (12.34m) and Waylon Yeager (12.03m).

Women's Discus: Grace Heckenlively led the way, tossing 32.12 meters, followed by Sanchez (31.16m).

Men's Discus: Piper again led the way throwing 37.08 meters. He was followed by Drew Click (36.50m) and Yeager (34.74m).

Women's Hammer Throw: McCullough threw 27.58 meters.

Men's Hammer Throw: Nolan Piper again led the way, tossing 43.15 meters. He was followed by Jean-Denis (37.06m) and Click (31.11m).

Men's Javelin: Jason McColl threw the jav 46.03 meters, placing fourth.

Women's 100m Hurdles: Brynne Badgett clocked in at 17.48 seconds.

Men's 110m Hurdles: Kelly Wilson II ran 15.93 seconds in the prelims and them ran 15.59 seconds in the finals to place fifth.

Women's 100m Dash: Hanna Bauer ran 13.29 seconds and Cece Samuels was behind, finishing in 13.71 seconds.

Men's 100m Dash: Dylan Dowell clocked 10.90 seconds in the prelims and was followed by Dom Glenn who ran 11.03 seconds in the prelims. The pair finished third and fourth in the finals with Dowell running an exact replica of his prelim time and Glenn running 10.93 seconds. Others to run included Daniel Hiser (11.20s), Ishmael Young (11.22s), Daniel McCormack (11.36s), Chiek Souare (11.37s), Ben Char (11.39s), Stevan Stewart (11.49s) and Justin Mathews (11.63s).

Men's 3,000m Steeplechase: Aiden Mahony ran 11:33.22 in the steeplechase.

Women's 4x100m Relay: The quartet of Cece Samuels, Allie Mongold, Hanna Bauer, and Maria Da Cunha ran 51.78 seconds, placing second in the event.

Men's 4x100m Relay: The men's 4x1 team of Hiser, Dowel, Young and Glenn clocked 42.52 seconds to place second overall.

Men's One Mile: Nick Stuck (4:50.76) and Kolin Brake (4:52.25) ran the four-lap race.

Women's 400m Dash: Allie Mongold circled the track in 1:02.48, placing seventh. Erniesha Guerrier finished in 1:07.54 as well.

Men's 400m Dash: Daniel McCormack won the event after running a time of 49.40 seconds which is good to place him eighth all-time in the event at Capital. Kaden Lowe finished in 52.28 seconds.

Men's 800m Run: Kolin Brake led the way, running 1:59.85, while Mikey Arnone finished in 2:01.49 and Nick Stuck ran 2:05.10.

Women's 200m Dash: Maria Da Cunha led the way, finishing in 26.96 seconds. She was followed by Hanna Bauer (27.48s), Brynne Badgett (28.41s), Allie Mongold (28.64s), and Erniesha Guerrier (28.81s).

Men's 200m Dash: A slew of Comets ran the 200 meter dash – McCormack (22.48s), Char (22.53s), Hiser (22.87s), Souare (23.28s), Mathews (23.62s) and Stewart (24.13s).

Women's 5,000m Run: Paige Castello ran 20:19.49 and was followed by Catherine Schaub (20:59.00) and Olivia Ellis (21:38.00).

Men's 5,000m Run: Zach Glotzbecker ran a time of 15:44.50 which marks the 10th best 5K in program history. Aaron Mcnu*tt (16:49.89) and Andrew Rouser (17:42.01) also ran in the event.

UP NEXT
Capital will head to the Ashland Invitational next weekend, April 26th and 27th for the two-day affair.
